The old woman
watched as the boy walked away. Behind her a figure stirred in the house,
coming forward to stand by her side. It was a young man, sleek with a predatory
gaze like a hawk’s.
"What do
we do now?" the young man asked.
"We wait.
This is the one, I know it; he is the one that will free us from this wretched
place. They choose the battle, I will win the war," the old woman smiled.
The young man
nodded.
“I will be
ready when you need me.”
